Steampunk is a subgenre of speculative fiction, usually set in anachronistic Victorian surroundings. It could be described by the slogan “What the past would appear like if the future had happened before.” It includes fiction with science fiction, fantasy or horror theme. It has become increasingly popular over the past two years, among young people in the United States.
